Another drink blog?

Why does the internet need another drink blog? There are thousands out there, all probably much fancier than this one will be and with more consistent posting. BUT, I have yet to find one that doesn’t require you to scroll through PAGES of useless chatter about the time of year, the person’s dog, or their aunt’s favorite sweater (okay, okay, that last one is a bit of an exaggeration - but not by much). You have to dig through all of this to find at the very bottom of the post the actual recipe.

OR, you find the ones that are obviously sponsored by a specific brand and every recommendation is brand specific. They sometimes don’t even give you the generic name for a product so you have to do deduction to apply it to the drink you want to make.

As an ameatuer mixologist/bartender, both these types aren’t very helpful to me. I’ve had to sift through to find the bits that are actually helpful to making better drinks. To find the tips like why you only shake the drink so long or when to use a shaker and when to stir and strain.

I love making drinks. To combine a bunch of ingredients together and make something delicious gives me great joy. It’s fun to find new drinks to make and to come up with my own. I’m definitely not an expert but as I keep learning I decided since I had this website space to use I might as well share my journey in hopes it might be useful for someone else who’s as frustrated as I am with searching for better drinks.

With all this in mind, here’s the format of my blog:

  • The Recipe - no scrolling, no explanations, if all you want is the ingredients and quantities you can grab and go.

  • Tips & Tricks - for how to make this drink, if applicable. If I used a homemade sour mix, I’ll put the details of that here or if you can make it non-alcoholic with a few changes.

  • The Chatter - if there’s a fun story behind making this drink, or if it’s one I created, then I’ll write it out here so if you don’t care then you already got what you came for and can ignore it.

What my blog will not have: ads! No ads here! However, if you want to send me a tip and help fund future drink endeavors, you can do so via ko-fi.
